She was predeceased by: her father Elias Garces. She is survived by: her husband Juan Tobar; her children, Juan A. Tobar (Ana Mantilla), Andres G. Tobar and Jocelyn C. Tobar (Peter Lauria); her grandchildren, Andrea, Alejandro, Olivia, Juliette, Denise, Brian, Kendrick, Kyandra, Peter, Judith, Joseph and Penelope; her mother Ana Chasipanta; and her siblings, Antonio, Isabel, Maria Eugenia and Hernan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Church, 516 West 6th Street, Plainfield, NJ 07060, in Monica's memory.
