He was predeceased by: his wife Eva. He is survived by: his children, Ernest (Linda) and Janine (David Voell); his grandchildren, Kevin (Molly McBain), Kirsten (Nikita Schoshesky), Andrew (Kerry), Cameron (Daria Boldyreva) and Mariska; and his great grandchildren, Clare and Addison.
