He was predeceased by: his parents, Margarite Shaffery and Gustave Shaffery; his son-in-law Michael; and his stepson Kenneth. He is survived by: his daughters, Lynne (Kevin), Nancy, Janice (Sean), Diane (Bill) and Carolyn (Matt); his grandchildren, Siobhan, Ryan, Sean, Ashley, Alan, Halley, Waverly and Brooke; his grandchildren-in-law, Glenn, Wesley, Reagan, Kerry and Justin; his great grandchildren, Ophelia and Kellen; his sister-in-law Dorothy Lapsley; his children, Richard (Marianne) and Deborah; his daughter-in-law Sharon; and his grandson Cameron. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the John F. Pfleger Funeral Home (115 Tindall Rd, Middletown Township, NJ 07748). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 10:30 AM at the St. Catharine's RC Church (108 Middletown Rd, Holmdel, NJ 07733).
