Tara White Obituary
Tara White, a loving and kind woman whose warmth touched everyone who knew her, passed away on July 22, 2026, after a brief battle with cancer. She was born on October 5, 1972, in Jersey City, a daughter of the late Raymond and Joan Hammill, and was raised and lived in Highlands for most of her life, where she built a home filled with love, devotion, and lasting memories.
Tara was a devoted companion, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her companion of 38 years, Joseph White, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and companionship. They would have celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary on Sunday, July 26th. She also leaves behind her son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Brigid, and her two adored grandsons, Matthew and Cillian, who were the apples of her eye. Tara is also survived by her stepmother, Cecelia Hammill and her brothers and sisters.
Family was the center of Tara's life, and she cherished every moment spent with those she loved. She was a devoted wife and mother, and she took great pride in being an outstanding Nana to her grandsons. Her love for her family was unwavering, and her presence brought comfort, joy, and strength to those around her. Tara's home and heart were always open, and her kindness left a lasting impression on all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Tara enjoyed simple pleasures that brought her happiness. She loved the beach and treasured trips to visit her friends. Country music was one of her favorite joys, and she especially enjoyed attending concerts. These moments reflected her spirited nature and her appreciation for the people and experiences that made life meaningful. She found happiness in being surrounded by loved ones, and she carried that joy with her wherever she went.
She was predeceased by her beloved son, Peter Michael White, in 2023, a loss that remained deeply felt and was a pain she never overcame. Through sorrow and hardship, Tara remained a woman of great love and resilience, holding close the memories of those she cherished. Her life was marked by devotion to her family, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of her husband, sons, grandsons, siblings, extended family, and friends.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Gathering on Sunday, August 2nd from 2 - 4 pm at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals. A Service will conclude the afternoon.
