He was predeceased by: his parents, William A. Auer and Rose Auer (Charonko). He is survived by: his sister Rosemary; his brother-in-law Richard Smith of Naples, FL; his niece Stephanie Peeters of East Windsor, NJ; his nephew Richard A. Smith of Doylestown, PA; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Madeleine, Bryn Peeters, Connor and Christian Smith. He is also survived by extended family members, and dear lifelong friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Crabiel Home For Funerals (170 N Main St, Milltown, NJ 08850). A Mass will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church (233 N Main St, Milltown, NJ 08850). A burial will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:45 PM at the Saint Peters Cemetery (500 Somerset St, New Brunswick, NJ 08901).
