It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Axel J. Johnson III of Millville, New Jersey, who passed away on July 16, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Axel J. Johnson Jr. and Avis Johnson; and his wife Irene (Sowitsky). He is survived by: his sons, Axel J. Johnson IV (Sherrie), Darrin Johnson and Christian Johnson (Anne); his grandchildren, Taylor (Bohdan), Michaela, Christian and Diana; and his sisters, Corrine Fithian and Elise Winton. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Viewing will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Christy Funeral Home (11 W Broad St, Millville, NJ 08332). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 at 1:15 PM at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery W. Main (601 W Main St, Millville, NJ 08332).
