He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Reeves, Sr. and Dorothy Reeves; his siblings, Ronald Reeves, Sr., Marian Abele and Martie Craig Worley; and his brother-in-law Bob Abele.
He is survived by: his son James, Jr. of Georgia; his fiancée Dawn Sheppard; his sisters, Cindi Abele of Millville and Tricia Sammons (John) of Bridgeton; and his stepchildren, Gina Scheetz (Henry), Donna Blair (Ed), Tracy Lindia (Lou), Russell Hufsey (Margene), Leslie Pierce (Javon) and Lauri Large (Kandice). He is also survived by nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105. It was his favorite charity.
