He was predeceased by: his parents, Confessor Cortes and Isabel Alvarez. He is survived by: his wife Aurea Cortes; his children, Elizabeth Cortes, Lizette Cortes, Auria M. Rodriguez (Ramon), Wilfredo Cortes Jr. (Lauren) and Damaris Cerda (Juan); and his sister Benigna Afanador Cortes. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
