He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael R. Hayes and Phyllis K. Hayes. He is survived by: his brothers, John Hayes (Jane) and Charles Hayes (Diane); and his siblings' children, Jack Hayes, Maggie Hayes (Brooklyn), Michael Hayes, Emily Edler Hoboken (John) and Christopher Hayes.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations can be made to the COPD Foundation or Monmouth County SPCA, in Hugh's memory.
