We bid farewell to Catherine J. Sweeney (Monmouth Junction, New Jersey), born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on June 11, 2025 at the age of 90. Catherine touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her mothers, Helen Morgan Jussel (Woodruff) and Alice Jussel (McAghon); her husband Frank D. Sweeney; her son Shaun Sweeney; and her siblings, Anne Ferris, Ursula Limpert and Paul Jussel.
She is survived by: her children, Stephen F. Sweeney, Sloan Scully (Raymond), Sheila S. Goeke (Robert Nolan), Suzanne Sweeney Danielle, Shevaun M. Sweeney (Merrill Merritt), Sharon A. Danzi (Frank) and Scott E. Sweeney; her daughter-in-law Catherine Sweeney; her siblings, Arthur Jussel (Laura Swartz), Pete Jussel, John Christian Jussel (Chris), David Jussel (Georgeanne) and Alice Nichols (Roger); and her grandchildren, Nicole Sweeney-Ruffing (William Ruffing), Pamela M. Goeke (Dan Onoda), Morgan Scully (Dane Childers), Christa Goeke (Joshua Sham), Deirdre Scully (Charles Boyles), Jeffrey Goeke, Benjamin Danzi, Ethan Danzi, Liam Merritt, Mary Sweeney Beeson (Willem Beeson), Sloan Sweeney, Sean Sweeney, Kevin Sweeney, Sarah Sweeney and Madelyn Sweeney.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 15th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the M. J. Murphy Funeral Home (616 Ridge Rd, Monmouth Junction, NJ 08852). Viewing will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Chapel of St. Augustine of Canterbury Church (45 Henderson Rd, Kendall Park, NJ 08824). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Augustine of Canterbury Church (45 Henderson Rd, Kendall Park, NJ 08824).
