She was loved and cherished by many people including : her parents, John Hughes and Janet Hughes of Montclair; her husband Bernard Borek; her brother John; her daughters, Catherine Borek, Carolyn Borek Artale, Jennifer Borek Hicks (Michael Hicks) and Joanne Borek (Peter Bradley Seckinger); her siblings, Karen Turro, Nancy Hudac (Dave Hudac) and Rick Hughes; and her grandchildren, Nicolas Artale, Julian Artale, Camilla Bradley Mosca and Thomas Seckinger.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Barbara's name to the Immaculate Conception High School Writing Lab, to be dedicated in her name while continuing her love of reading, writing, and literature.
