He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, James Hinton and Mildred Hinton; his wife Frances; his children, Jerry Jones, Rodney, Travis, Guy (Patty), Jireh (Melissa) and James, Jr.; his grandchildren, Sterling, Jerelle (Sarah), Jayden, Genesis and Serenity; his siblings, Calvin, Wayne (Brenda), Sharon, Karen (Robert Coles), Jennifer (Robert Foley) and Gwendolyn; and his sister-in-law Paulette Grier. He was also cherished by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
