He was predeceased by: his father Marvin Ellis; and his brother Mark Ellis. He is survived by: his wife LaVerne Williams; his children, Stephanie Lawshe (Chris), Carmen Galeano (Mike) and Mikee Ellis; and his sister Marcia Green (John). He is also survived by six grandsons and one granddaughter.
