He was predeceased by : his parents, Matilda Davis Cunningham, MD and Robert M. Cunningham, MD; and his brother William E. Cunningham, MD (Sharon). He is survived by : his son Bobby Wilson Cunningham; his wife Margaret Johnson Cunningham; his sister Dr. Dellena M. Cunningham; and his friend Ace. He is also survived by loving nephews, nieces, cousins. relatives.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to The Cunningham Endowed Scholarship at Howard University College of Medicine.

“Starting in middle school when we first met, through our experiences academically, athletically, and socially, Bobby and I were always closely connected. We understood and could confide in one another, and our souls bonded. As life always gets in the way, we reconnected at our 40 year reunion at Pingry. It was as if time never moved. The quintessential Bobby always had us laughing at our annual dinners. I will deeply miss the ‘football hug’ we always gave one another. God Bless Your Soul Brother”
