Joan Patricia Russell Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joan Patricia Russell (Morristown, New Jersey), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 14, 2025 at the age of 89. She was predeceased by: her husband Edmund J. Russell; her parents, Patrick Donnelly and Mary Donnelly; and her siblings, Maureen Licitra (Menet), Frank Donnelly, James Donnelly and Nancy DeMeola (Jay).
She is survived by: her daughters, Kimberly Sloane (Jeffrey), Kathleen Ancona (Peter), Nancy Diamond (Paul) and Mary Lynn Fetrow (John); her grandchildren, David Sloane, Katelyn Sloane of Sara Ancona, MD, Emily Bowman (Austin), Courtney Vitanza (Michael), Jessica Fetrow and Emma Fetrow; her great grandchildren, Dean Vitanza and Emilia Vitanza; and her granddaughter Patricia Donnelly. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Doyle Funeral Home (106 Maple Ave, Morristown, NJ 07960). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, September 18th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Assumption (91 Maple Ave, Morristown, NJ 07960).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Blue Army Shrine of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (World Apostolate of Fatima), Donate - World Apostolate of Fatima USA (https://www.bluearmy.com) or the Cure Alzheimer's Fund.
