She was predeceased by: her parents, George Hertz and Olga Hertz; and her aunts, Mary Ann Dutko and Jean Kost. She is survived by: her husband Louis John Brooks; her sister Valerie; her son Zachary; and her pet Xylla.
Gail loved all manners of plants, especially flowers, and she would truly appreciate them, but she has also been a lifelong advocate for Diabetes Research and would be thrilled for any donations to go to the American Diabetes Association to realize her dream of an artificial pancreas, work towards a cure, and/or create the opportunity for someone in need to receive the same or better technology and supplies that allowed her to monitor, manage, and persevere day to day.
