He was predeceased by: his parents, Jaime Vilar and Augusta Vilar. He is survived by: his daughter Adriana Maio; and his siblings, Anabela Ramos Gaspar (Casimiro) and Aderito Vilar (Elsa). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
