He was predeceased by: his parents, Tannie Hill Fleming, Sr. and Dorothy Mae Fleming (Sessoms); his wife Gwendolyn Diane Nelson; his siblings, Jean Fleming, Ellen Raymond, David, Kenneth, Rev. John Fleming, Richard, Sr. and Tannie, Jr.; and his sisters-in-law, Sylvia (Tannie) and Mary (Kenneth).
He is survived by: his godchildren, Hakim Fleming, Sharif James and Jamila Brooks; his brother Dr. Ronald Fleming (Artelia) of Herndon, VA; and his nieces and nephews, Deena Fleming, Rhonda Landrum (Wil), Dr. Ashawnda Fleming, Leonora Fleming, Leslie Fleming (Mary), Richard Fleming, Jr., Randall Fleming, Hassan Fleming and Hakim Fleming (Richella). He is also survived by loving cousins, great nieces and nephews, and many friends.
