It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eva Cleo Gary (Newark, New Jersey), who passed away on June 10, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Deacon Earl N. Young; her daughter Deborah D. Young; her former husband Cyrus Gary, Jr.; her mother Nutey B. Richardson; and her aunt Rosa Lee Robinson.
She is survived by: her sister Mary White (James); her daughter Metropolitan Archbishop Gwendolyn G. Young; her great grandchildren, Kaylyn N. Newton, Mycah A. Newton, Alicia M. Newton and Victoria Olmo; her great great grandchild Anthony; and her godchildren, Darlene Green and Keith Green (Britt). She is also survived by nephews, nieces and friends.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Hopewell Baptist Church (525 Orange St, Newark, NJ 07107). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
