He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Isabel Maria Ferreira Matos; his children, Rita Isabel Trafaria Matos (Wenderson), Alipio Matos and Paula Matos; his siblings, Laura Matos and Deolinda Rodrigues; his grandchildren, Duarte, Gil, Catarina and Beatriz; his mother-in-law Maria Da Conceicao Ferreira; and his sibling-in-law Antonito Trafaria.
