We announce the death of Manuel J. Lavin (Newark, New Jersey), who passed away on August 19, 2026, at the age of 80. Manuel will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, José Lavin Martinez and Josefa Lavin; his sister Rose Lavin; and his niece Elisa Lavin. He is survived by: his siblings, Maria Barreiro (Pilar) and Fernando Lavin; and his nieces and nephews, Joseph Barreiro, Fernando Lavin, John Castrelos, Margaret Lavin-Silva, Maria Lavin-Sanhudo, Rose Calimano and Josephine Barreiro. He is also survived by many great-nieces, great-nephews, and dear relatives and friends.
