With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Maria Luisa Yanez (Newark, New Jersey), who passed away on September 26, 2025 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Antonio Yanez; her brother-in-law Julio; and her mother María. She is survived by: her children, Jose Luis Yanez (Kim) and Julia Yanez-Ferreira; her grandchildren, Brittany, Shae and Katelyn; her siblings-in-law, Manolo (Rosa) and Herminio (Rosa); and her caregiver Rosana Collado.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 30th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 at 8:30 AM at the Buyus Funeral Home (426 Lafayette St, Newark, NJ 07105). A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church (212 Lafayette St, Newark, NJ 07105).
