With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Marla A. Askew (Newark, New Jersey), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 7, 2025 at the age of 56. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her grandparents, Lacey, Perlene Graves and Ruth Draugh (Bernard); and her siblings, Darcel Henry, Darlene Rodwell and Corey Graves.
She is survived by: her parents, Thomas Graves and Barbara Graves; her husband Darrell Askew; her children, Kristina Forney, Kayla Askew, Korey Askew, Kaira Askew and Jacquea Lee (Lissett); her sibling Thomas Graves Jr.; and her sibling's children, Tenea, Clera, Nikole, Dajaun (Lashonda), Lamont, Andre, Madison and Kendra.
Her diverse career choices also included significant contributions to her church's ministry where she found her calling and fulfilled her passion for serving others.
