We bid farewell to Philip S. Hampton in Newark, New Jersey, born in Binghamton, New York, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on May 20, 2025 at the age of 74. Philip touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis Hampton and LeDora Scott Hampton; his siblings, Mary Ellis Holmes, Buster Hampton, Glenn Hampton and Lonnie Hawkins; and his sibling-in-law Devan Combs.
He is survived by: his significant other Rose Hampton; his children, Michael Hampton (Keesa), Talyse LaDora Hampton Mirza (Zamin), Devan Hampton and Xzavian Johnson; his daughter-in-law Tiffany Hampton; his grandchildren, Michael Hampton (Amanda), Nathaniel Hampton (Deshea) and Malana Hampton; his great grandchildren, Jeremiah, Liliana, Michael Benjamin and Rowyn; and his nephews, Valliery Holmes, Ulysses Holmes Jr., Dennis Holmes, Robert Holmes (Carolyn Annette Hampton), Meldra Webster and Jacki T. Clark (Jean Hawkins).
Visitation was held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Family Life Church (157 Clark St, Vestal, NY 13850).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Binghamton, 90 Clinton St., Binghamton, NY 13905—an organization close to Phil's heart and where his legacy of mentorship and love will continue to live on.
