He was predeceased by: his parents, James J. Smith and Ruth Collins (Tucker); and his wife Sharon Smith. He is survived by: his son Dennis J. Smith (LeeAnn) of Wantage; his grandchildren, Christian Smith (Rose) of Rahway and Isabel Smith of North Caldwell; his sister-in-law Ida Smith of New York State; his sibling's children, Kathleen Mott (Lucien) of New York State and Thomas Smith of New York State; his former wife Maria Smith of Jersey City; and his pet Clancy.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Pinkel Funeral Home, Inc. (31 Bank St, Sussex, NJ 07461). The military honors will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the American Legion Post 213 (915 NJ-23, Wantage, NJ 07461).
