She was predeceased by: her husband Jim (Jim). She is survived by: her children, Barbara Phillips, James Scales, Jr. (Brenda), Janice Grzesik (Rich), Laura McDonnell (Andy) and Julia Scales; her grandchildren, Jeri, Dustin (Joanne), Richie Paul (Colleen), Mary (David), Kelly and Katie; and her great grandchildren, Makayla, Austin, Zoe, Abby, Paul, Annie, Autumn and Teagan.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in the memory of Julia Ann Scales to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice at 99 Sparta Avenue, Newton, NJ 07860.
