With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Michael D. Merle Jr. of North Arlington, New Jersey, born in Chatham, New Jersey, who passed away on January 14, 2023 at the age of 90. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Michael D. Merle Jr. to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Michael Merle Sr. and Josephine Merle; his sons, Edward and Michael Merle III; and his brothers, Frank, Bob, Artie and Pete Merle.

He is survived by : his wife Julia Merle; his daughters, Luanne Merle of San Diego and Joanne Van Dien (Jim) of North Arlington; his grandchildren, Jessica Ann Van Dien, Richard Michael Van Dien and Julianne Lewis; his great grandchild Colin James Lewis; and his brothers, Joseph and Edward Merle.
