Joan H. Katona Obituary

We are sad to announce that, on February 28, 2026, at the age of 93, Joan H. Katona of North Brunswick, New Jersey passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid adieu to Joan's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Joan has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Vanderburg and Harriet Vanderburg; her husband William Katona; and her sister Doris Strausser. She is survived by: her daughters, Karen Boley (Mitchell) of East Brunswick and Kathy Roepke (Michael) of Parsippany; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Boley of East Windsor, Melanie Boley of North Brunswick, Nicholas Roepke of Parsippany and Christopher Roepke of Parsippany; and her great grandchild Brooklyn.
