He is survived by : his wife Pamela Morrissey; his former life partner Irene; his sons, Mark (Erica) and Joseph; his stepsons, Bryan Morrissey (Krystin) and Sean Morrissey; and his brother James (Lori). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 5 nieces and nephews and other extended family.

Phil Herbert wrote a sympathy message

“Mike and I worked for many years together in the Lower Merion PD. He taught me the meaning of “1” - you can only do 1 thing at a time to reach a successful outcome, and there is always 1 more thing you can do if you falter. I still drink from an Army coffee cup he gave me some 30+ years ago. My condolences and prayers to Pam and the entire Perloff family in your time of grief. Phil Herbert”
