She was loved and cherished by many people including: her spouse Arie Leegwater; her children, Dennis Leegwater (Lynette) of Midland Park, NJ, Audry Elkins (Gregory) of Byron Center, MI, Wendy Malone of Orange Park, FL and Rawn Leegwater (Susan) of Franklin Lakes, NJ.; her grandchildren, Daryl Leegwater (Erin), Matthew (Sarah), Cori Van Buiten (Jason), Kelly Elkins, Katie Greenburg (Thomas), Cody Kruger (Blake), Zackary Malone and Levi Malone; her great grandchildren, Greyson, Weston, Oliver Leegwater, Thomas, Theodore Greenburg and Jarid Wilczak; her foster daughter Helen Miller Sparrow (Joe); and her siblings, Bill Cook (Charlene), Jane DeJong (Bill) and Trudy Tallis (late John Cook).
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 14th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home (557 Lafayette Ave, Hawthorne, NJ 07506). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 15th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the New City Kids Church or to the Lighthouse Pregnancy Resource Center.
