He was predeceased by : his sons, Steven Roy Perez and Walter Perez; and his brother Edgardo Chacon. He is survived by : his wife Nazaria Eda Perez; his siblings, Celia Perez and Rolando Morales; his nieces and nephews, Lidia Santamaria (Richard Jimenez), Glenda, Isela, Mayela and Jose "Chepito" Luis Rivera; and his daughter Jeanette Thompson.
