He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo M. Wapelhorst and Walburga Wapelhorst (Orth); his former wife Fonda Lou; his son Leo III; and his brothers, Ernie and Charlie.
He is survived by: his wife Mary; his daughter Mary Canesi (Sonny); his grandson Luca Canesi; his siblings, Bill (Linda), Tom Wapelhorst, Alice Schoenhofer, Mary Downing (Greg) and Annette Wapelhorst; and his brothers-in-law, Russell Hoover, Dave Hoover (Emy) and Butch Morrow (Judy). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM. A burial will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 1:15 PM to 1:45 PM at the Holy Cross Cemetery - May's Landing (5061 Harding Hwy, Mays Landing, NJ 08330).
