Alan L. Budd Obituary
Beloved Husband Father and Grandfather, 86 Alan L. Budd (Colonel, US Army, Retired) of Nutley, NJ passed peacefully into eternal life on June 9th 2024 after a brief illness. Visitation will be at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Tuesday, June 11 from 7:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. There will be a funeral mass celebrated at St. Vincent's Martyr Church, 26 Green Village Road, Madison at 10:00am.
The interment will be at Restland Memorial Park, 77 DeForest Avenue, East Hanover with military honors. Alan was a graduate of Seton Hall University and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army through the University's ROTC program. He proudly served the nation for 25 years in several staff and command positions in the Army and Army Reserve, ultimately rising to the rank of Colonel.
In civilian life, Alan earned a Master's Degree from the New School for Social Research and was the Director of Labor Relations for both Mobay Chemical Corporation and Agfa-Gevaert, NV, as well as serving as a Labor Mediator with the NJ State Board of Mediation until his retirement. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Margaret (nee Schutz) his children Kevin Budd, Esq. and his wife Michele; Dr. Steven Budd and his wife Gwen; and Karen Greenberg and her husband Jonathan, as well as his devoted grandchildren Alexandra, Kevin Jr., Gavin, Mayanna, Sienna and Thomas. Alan is predeceased by his parents Leo and Rose (nee Lukowick) Budd, and sisters Joann Yomtob and Eileen O'Donnell.
