He was predeceased by : his parents, John Flanagan and Maura Flanagan; his sister Susan Flanagan; and his daughter Tara Flanagan Smith. He is survived by : his wife Christine; his sisters, Mary and Kathleen; his daughters, Kerry Flanagan (Fernando Zambrano), Sioban Amoruso (John), Christine Pedalino (Matthew) and Pamela Flanagan (John Nyman); and his grandchildren, Abigail, Liam, Audrey, Grace, Isabella, Killian and Aidan.

He is finally at peace after a 10 year battle with Alzheimer's disease.
