He was predeceased by: his Other Edward Lea; his mother Lorraine Lea; his wife Phyllis Whitehead Lea; and his brothers, William Henry Lea and Edward Anderson Lea.
He is survived by: his sons, Larry Lorell Lea and Corey Joseph Jermaine Lea; his daughter-in-law Susan Lea; his grandchildren, Rachel Lorell Lea and Jordan Joshua Lea; his sister Carolyn Lea Benjamin of Richmond, VA; and his siblings-in-law, Jeanette Caldwell Wade of New Bern, NC, Geneva Lea of Chase City, VA, Noreen Whitehead White (Donnell White) of Fayetteville, NC, Delores Evans Whitehead of Roselle, NJ, Sallie Mae Fairley Whitehead of Oxford, NC, Daniel and Morell Whitehead (Joe Obley) of Fayetteville, NC. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and coworkers.
Visitation was held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals (3377 US-9, Old Bridge, NJ 08857). A funeral service was held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Graceland Memorial Park (1900 Galloping Hill Rd, Kenilworth, NJ 07033).
