He was predeceased by : his brother-in-law Martin Nalbandian (Anig). He is survived by : his wife Ustinjya Shahdanian; his children, John L. Shahdanian II (Kelly), Diana M. Cascone (John Scott) and Mark H. Shahdanian (Patricia); his grandchildren, John III, Alexander, Lauren, Gabriella, Nora, Sofia, Austin and Margaret; his sister Bonnie Fitch (C. James); his siblings-in-law, Henry Nalbandian (Thalia), Walter Nalbandian (Nouvian) and Nora Simonian (Joseph); his nieces and nephews, James, Thomas (Stephanie), Arthur, Matthew (Nina), Melissa (Brian), Gregory (Kelly), Christopher (Laura), Elizabeth (Peter), Adam, Joseph (Karine) and Nairi (Marc); and his friends, A. Noubar Boyajian, Jeanette Mosgofian, George Morrow and Agatha Healy.
