He was predeceased by: his parents, James Joseph Brady, Sr. and Alice Rose Brady (Greiner); his siblings, Catherine, James, Jr., Arthur, Mildred and Mary Joan; his former wives, Lillian Jacobs and Ruth Stoughton Johnston; his wife Joyce Deets Barlow; and his grandfather Rick.

He is survived by: his children, Jonathan Brady (Lois) of Center Sandwich, Mary Alice Casale (Chris) of Whitehouse Station, Jody Boehm (Roger) of Homosassa, Karen Barlow of Califon and Timothy Johnston (Ulla) of Boca Raton, Florida.; his grandchildren, Jennifer Brady (McKenzie Paine) of Fort Collins, Colorado, Alex Johnston (Shannon) of Atlanta, Georgia and Julia McAndrews (Riley) of Mountain House, California; his great grandchildren, Georgia, Evie and Finn McAndrews of Mountain House, California; his nephew Jay Brady of Hainzell, Germany; his nieces, Eileen Brady Pixley of Perinaldo and Kathleen Brady Casey of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and his goddaughter Rosalie Boyd Taylor of Madison, Alabama..
