She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Coleman and Margaret "Mowder" Coleman; her husband Frederick Melberger; her siblings, Donald Coleman and Doris Petty; and her stepdaughter Barbara Shields.

She is survived by: her children, Carol Hart (Gary), Lynn Gallagher, Susan Tillou, Jeff Smith (Lynn) and John Smith (Kim); and her stepson Jeff Melberger (Lisa). She is also survived by nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
