Evelyn Settembre Obituary

Evelyn Settembre, age 95, of Paramus, NJ died Saturday, November 20, 2021 at NJ Veterans Memorial Home of Paramus, NJ. Evelyn was born November 8, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Paul and Palma (DelMaestro) Serrecchia. In addition to her parents Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Anthony and her brother Aldo Serrecchia and his wife Rose.

Evelyn was previously employed by Fordham University, Fordham, NY as a Copy Clerk for many years before her retirement. She loved to dance, enjoyed knitting, bingo and was an avid reader. Evelyn was a supportive, loving wife to her husband, a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. When a child was born in the family she made sure they each got a special gift from her which was a plant and a plate with the child's name, date of birth, time of birth and location where they were born for them to cherish and hold dear.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Phyllis Barber and husband Charlie, two devoted sons, Fiore Settembre and wife Jeannie, Anthony Settembre and wife Diane, grandchildren, Jessica and husband Matt, Gregory and wife Val, Trina and husband Chris, Steven and wife Stacey, Corey, Julia and husband Marvin, Lauren Watson, Michael and wife Leah, Rob, Christine and husband Cliff, Marie and husband Andrew, Paul and Anthony, twenty-eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 24 from 10 am – 12 noon at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ.

The funeral service will begin 11:30 am on Wednesday, November 24 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Green Park, Morganville at a later date.
