With sadness, we share the passing of Mildred Romano of Paramus, New Jersey. Mildred, born on February 10, 1932, passed away on September 8, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Anthony Calabrese and Lena Calabrese of Cliffside Park. She is survived by: her husband Anthony J. Romano; her brother Ralph Calabrese (Ginny); her children, Patricia Nunziata (Ralph), Lynn Marie Romano, Joseph A. Romano (Josephine) and Anthony R. Romano (Maureen); her grandchildren, Jill Sarlo (Dennis), Tim Gallagher (Christina), James Gallagher (Kristen), Christen Romano-Vetrero (Anthony), Jennifer Charette (Matthew), Jessica Sheehan (Michael) and Sabrina Romano; and her great grandchildren, Alexa, Jaden, Jackson, Parker, Preston, Amelia, Miles, Alex, Ben and Jack.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (257 Godwin Ave, Wyckoff, NJ 07481). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the R. C. Church (234 N Farview Ave, Paramus, NJ 07652). An entombment was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at the Maryrest Cemetery (770 Darlington Ave, Mahwah, NJ 07430).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Special Olympics (https://support.specialolympics.org) of New Jersey in Mildred's name.
