He was predeceased by : his parents, Samuel Nashel and Beatrice Krantz Nashel. He is survived by : his wife Susan; his children, Jonathan (Rebecca Brittenham) of South Bend, IN, Elizabeth (Stan Howard) of Missoula, MT and Peter (Jenna Chused) of Brooklyn, NY; his grandchildren, Avery, Ethan and Jesse Howard; his children, Samuel Nashel, Benjamin and Sidney Nashel; and his brother David Nashel (Cheryl) of Chapel Hill, NC..

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory can be made to the Jewish Braille Organization (http://www.jbilibrary.org) and Valley Hospice (http://www.valleyhospitalfoundation.org).
