He was predeceased by: his parents, Mildred Hughes (Hague) and Herbert Hughes; and his siblings, Baby Herbert Hughes, Mildred Burns, Doris Moschella-Wilson, Edith Finelli, Rita Wilson, William Hughes, Herbert Hughes, Joyce Herschell and Eleanor Erb.
He is survived by: his wife Lois Hughes (Sheldrick); his children, Robert Hughes (Marie Elena), Patricia Foley (Dan), Linda Hughes (Steven Napolitano) and Carol Gorczyca (Edward); his granddaughters, Danielle Hughes (Akito Eguchi) and Madeline Hughes; his children, Elizabeth Foley (Michael Greenwood), Amelia Ford (Lee Ford), Connor Foley, Lucas Napolitano (Natalie Guerrero), Patrick Napolitano (Maya Vasquez), Casey, Karla and Bryan Gorczyca (Bailey); and his great grandchildren, Quincy, Anders and Frances.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Priola Funeral Home (60 N Beverwyck Rd, Lake Hiawatha, NJ 07034). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Peter the Apostle Parish (179 Baldwin Rd, Parsippany, NJ 07054). A burial will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Holy Cross Cemetery (340 Ridge Rd, North Arlington, NJ 07031).
