He was predeceased by : his parents, Sallie Moore Ratliff and John Ratliff; and his siblings, Mae Dunlap, Margie Carmichael, Louise Barnes, Gladys Oliver, John Ratliff Jr., James Ratliff, Thomas Ratliff and Bobby Gean Ratliff.

He is survived by : his wife Alzona Ratliff; his children, Phyllis Ratliff of Stratford, CT, Theresa Ratliff of Paterson, NJ, Kenna Wimberly, Taurin of Paterson, NJ, Anthony Albert Ratliff of Greensboro, NC and Jermaine Coe of Greensboro, NC; his mother-in-law Evangelist Dorothy McBride of Sumter, SC; his sisters, Shelby McCoy of Danville, VA and Dorothy Marshall of Harrisburg, PA; and his sister-in-law Mazone Everett of Sumter, SC. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
