It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Derek Meza Jr. of Paterson, New Jersey, born in Wayne, New Jersey, who passed away on October 27, 2025, at the age of 22, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Derek had on those he encountered along his journey. Though Derek may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Derek Meza, Sr. and Shirley Meza of Paterson; and his siblings, Steven Meza of Paterson and Sharon Flores (Adonis Liz) of Saddle Brook. He was also cherished by his family, friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home (557 Lafayette Ave, Hawthorne, NJ 07506). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the St. Paul's R. C Church (286 Haledon Ave, Prospect Park, NJ 07508).
