He is survived by: his wife Militza Mateo Brightman; his children, Rueben Owens (Portia), Makeda Brightman, Khadijah Brightman, Andrew Brightman, Eunice Tejeda Mateo, Evelyn Tejada Mateo and Ismael Tejeda Mateo; his grandchildren, Amia Rose, Ruben Owens, Antonio Owens, Jaden Brightman, Deja Headen, Lyric Brightman, Alexis Fraser, Jennifer Fraser, Jada Barner, Isabelle Prescott, Ewel Bourdiel Tejeda, Maria E. Tejeda, Eiden Feliz Tejeda, Jayden Tejeda Segura and Vanellope Lara Tejeda; his great grandchildren, Jaden Rose and Roman Joshua Wolf-Abrams; his siblings, Barbara Grant, Richard Reed, Ja'net Reid-Jones and Ethel Reid-McNichols; and his siblings' children, Jackie Brightman, Carolyn Deas, Larob Brightman, Toby Brightman and Henry Grant. He is also survived by cousins and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, October 27th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
