With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Samuel G. Jarkesy of Paterson, New Jersey, who passed away on January 29, 2024. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Samuel and Leah (Asfor); his daughter Ann Brooks (Roger) of Durham, NC; his grandchildren, Marie Colarusso (Chris) and Phil (Paula); his great grandchildren, Maria, Elizabeth, Henry (Charis), Annie and Roger Brooks, Jr.; his daughter Maureen Machado (Anthony) of Wayne; his granddaughters, Maggie, Susan, Rebecca and Elena Machado; his daughter Linda Harris (Stephen) of Brooklyn, NY; and his grandchildren, Gavin, Elizabeth, Lucy and Jane Harris. He was also cherished by sons-in-law along with thirteen grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Susan Jarkesy Scholarship Fund would be appreciated.

Sammy, as the family called him, Uncle Sam as I called him, was an inspiration to all of us. He was not only intelligent, but wise beyond his years, and will certainly be missed by us all. Every year he sent me a Christmas card, and this year I saved the envelope, intending to write him a letter. I will pray for him.”
