He was predeceased by: his uncle Henry Reeves; his grandmother Elizabeth Pettit Reeves; his parents, John M. Pennell Jr. and Etta M. Pennell (Reeves); his brother Bruce A. Pennell; and his close friend Robert Morrison.
He is survived by: his siblings, Franklyn D. Pennell Sr. (late Lucy), John M. Pennell III (Ruthann) and Donna DeForrest (James); and his friends, Eugene DiGiovacchino, Jesse Todd and Leamon Berry. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
