He was predeceased by: his mother Verna Colby; his significant other Sara Charlotte Colby; his father Kenneth Wayne Colby; his brother Kenneth Colby (Doris Bird); and his grandson Shane Colby.

He is survived by: his sons, Michael Colby (Janette) and Craig Colby; and his grandchildren, Lacey Colby Dern (Scott), Alyssa Moreno (Michael), Tyler Colby (Annie), Dylan Colby and Emma Colby. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
