He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Rizzo and Josephine Rizzo; his wife Dorothy Duffy; his siblings, Nicholas, Frank, Michael Rizzo, Anna, Mary and Josephine (Babe); and his son John Jr..

He is survived by: his daughters, Michelle Rizzo (Jim Megna) and Rosemarie Guld (Bob); his siblings-in-law, Carole Nicolini and Francis Duffy; his grandchildren, Jennifer Rizzo, Keri Rizzo, Jeffrey and Jason Lippincott; and his great grandchild Logan Dzurkoc. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to NJ Veterans Memorial Home of Menlo Park, 132 Evergreen Road, Edison, NJ 08837, where John was loved and cared for in the final year of his life.
