He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Luz Ascencio; his children, Emalie Ascencio (Eduardo Rivera) and Edgardo Ascencio, Jr.; his grandchildren, Jeremiah Rivera, Chloe Rivera and Kali Ascencio Moore; and his siblings, Alberto, Mario, Carmen "Cuca", Sandy, Nina, Rosie, Juan and Papo. He was also cherished by many loving nieces and nephews.

A burial was held on Tuesday, April 23rd 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Calvary Cemetery (2398 Rte 70 W, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002).
